Te Mauri o te Kauri

Ngāti Hine

Three years

Utilising mātauranga Māori, this project has been creating and using rongoā (medicine) from the whale to save kauri trees in Northland.

The project has been already been running for five years and needs further investment to keep going.

Wakatū Seed Banking

Ngāti Koata, Ngāti Rārua, Ngāti Tama, and Te Ātiawa

With the help of Te Tira Whakamātaki's hub-and-spoke model, Wakatū is seeking help to establish and run a seed banking program in their area.

This a new project that will preserve native species, fund research, reforest vital areas, and provide jobs.
